The day after Legoland (see previous post if you don't know what I'm talking about) we went to the San Diego Zoo. It is a very cool zoo, unlike any other I've been too. It's a great place for families. My brother & sister live about a half mile away, so it's a GREAT place for us to visit when we are there.
Our last day in San Diego, we went to Coronado for a breakfast picnic on the beach. It was by far, my favorite part of the trip. Howard told me, "this is what a real San Diego trip is all about" when we were there. I LOVED it. The weather was great. I forgot sunscreen on my neck and chest and a week and a half later, I'm peeling for the 2nd time. UGH! We had the beach (almost) to ourselves and were about 1000 yards from the beginning of the air force landing strip and got to watch lots of fighter jets land. It was so cool!
My brother and sister in law were so nice to share their house, food and San Diego expertise with us. We all enjoyed a visit and trip that Howard and I will always remember and cherish. I can only hope I get to have a similar experience with Hazel when she's a little older.
Speaking of Hazel... she was over the moon happy to see us come home. She enjoyed a 4 day weekend home with dad and at some friends' house one day while Brian worked. It was hard to leave her and made coming back home so easy. :)
